Official Series Name:
The series officially named is VGO TEL Mobile Presents Allied Bank Pakistan vs. West Indies Test Series 2025. Stories, headlines, write ups should follow this exact nomenclature.

Multan, 16 January 2025:
Pakistan is finally going to end its ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 footsteps with a two-match Test series against West Indies. The series gets underway with the first Test at the iconic Multan Cricket Stadium from 17 January, with the second Test also taking place at the same venue from 25 January.
This will be the West Indies’ first Test match in Pakistan since December 2006, an historic moment. The last Test series played on Pakistani soil saw a PCB Hall of Famer in charge of the home side as Inzamam-ul-Haq led the team to a convincing 2-0 win in a three-match series.
The last time the two teams faced each other in the Test arena was in 2021 in the West Indies, when the series ended in an exciting 1-1 draw.
Preparation and Team Updates:
Pakistan, captained by Shan Masood, will seek to achieve consecutive home series victories following their 2-1 victory over England on October 2024. The 15-member team has already gone through their skill refinement through rigorous three-day training sessions.
The visitors, under the captaincy of Kraigg Brathwaite, worked hard with two days of training at the beautiful Multan Cricket Stadium and a three-day warm-up match against Pakistan Shaheens in Islamabad last week.
Exciting Squad Additions:
- Kashif Ali (right-arm fast bowler)
- Mohammad Huraira (right-handed batter)
- Rohail Nazir (wicketkeeper-batter)
Additionally, Abrar Ahmed, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Ali, and Sajid Khan return to strengthen the side. Notably, Abrar and Sajid are on the brink of milestones, needing 11 and six wickets respectively to reach 50 Test wickets.
What the Captains Said:
Shan Masood (Pakistan’s Test Captain):
This is our final Test series of the current ICC World Test Championship cycle, and we’re keen to finish it off in a strong manner. I mean, every match in this format is crucial, and we’re determined to finish the campaign on a high with a historic series win.”
“West Indies is a very strong team, with their own way of playing the game, and we know they’re going to challenge us. Test cricket is all about adjustment, and we are ready for the challenges.
“Confidence from our domestic success against England has been great and we’re now on a mission to continue that.”
Kraigg Brathwaite (West Indies’ Test Captain):
“We’re very excited to be in Pakistan. A number of us are here for the first time and want to do well in this series.”
“Pakistan is a strong team at home, so we’ll have to work hard and get used to these conditions. Running the ball is as important as it is, but 20 wickets to win a match.
